Attribution
A Connector is attributed to a project when they make an introduction that both the Client and the Expert accept, and that introduction leads to the project.
Attribution is recorded at the time of acceptance and does not change afterwards, except where an administrator corrects a demonstrated error.
Where no Connector introduced the parties, no reward is payable and the Expert retains the full eligible amount less any platform fee.
Calculation
Eligible fees are the agreed milestone amount, less taxes and any applicable platform fee.
The Expert receives 80% of eligible fees. The Connector receives 20% of eligible fees.
The reward is deducted from the Expert's share. It is never added to the amount the Client pays.
When it is earned
A reward becomes earned when the Client approves the milestone and funds are released.
Rewards on funded but unreleased milestones are shown as pending and are not yet payable.
Reversal
If a milestone is refunded, disputed in the Client's favour, or reversed for fraud, the associated expert payout and connector reward are reversed for that milestone.
Where a reward has already been paid out, the reversed amount is offset against future rewards.
Exclusions
Self-referral, circular referral arrangements between related parties, and introductions made after the parties were already in contact are not eligible.
Rewards are not payable on work arranged outside the platform.
The Circle Corporation is currently operating as a demonstration build. Payments, payouts and rewards are simulated in an internal ledger and no live funds are processed.
